These terms cover this website and the Monok builds you download from it. By using the site or a download you agree to them. “Monok” is a working name and may change; these terms carry over to the new name.

## The preview is a preview

Monok is early software, offered free as a preview (version 0.1.0 at the time of writing). It is incomplete, it will change, and it may crash or lose data. Don’t rely on it for anything important, and don’t use it where a failure could hurt someone.

Performance figures on this site, such as app size, start time and memory use, are labeled as measured or as targets. Measured figures describe one build on the setup stated next to them. Neither kind is a promise.

The built-in terminal runs your own shell with your own permissions: commands you run in it can change or delete files on your Mac, as in any terminal. Ad and tracker blocking uses third-party filter lists and may block things you wanted or miss things you didn’t.

## Your licence to use the builds

You may download the builds from this site and use them on Macs you own or control, for personal or internal use. You may not sell them, redistribute them or present them as your own. Please link to the download page instead of hosting copies, so people get the current build and can check its SHA-256.

## No warranty

The site and the builds are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Check the SHA-256 shown on the download page before opening a file.

## Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from the site or the builds. Where liability can’t be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us, which for a free preview is zero.

## Using the site

Don’t attack the site, flood the contact form, scrape it in a way that degrades it for others, or use it to send spam. We may block traffic that does.

## Content

The text, design and code of this site belong to us unless stated otherwise. You may quote short passages with a link back. Names of other browsers, engines and libraries belong to their owners and are used only to describe them.

## Changes

We may update these terms; the date above changes when we do. Continuing to use the site or a build after a change means you accept the new terms.
